About Solar Panel Advice Centre

Solar Panel Advice Centre helps UK homeowners understand what to do when a solar sale, installation or aftercare promise has gone wrong.

What we do

We provide practical, evidence-led guidance for homeowners who are unsure whether their solar panel issue is a sales complaint, installation dispute, warranty problem or something else.

Solar Panel Advice Centre is part of European Consumer Claims (ECC). Enquiries submitted through this site are received and reviewed by ECC. If a further service may be suitable, the provider, terms and any commercial relationship will be explained clearly before you decide whether to proceed.

The starting point is simple: solar panels can be beneficial when they are sold honestly, priced fairly and installed properly. The problem is not solar itself. The problem is where a household was misled, pressured, given unrealistic savings figures, or left with poor workmanship and no useful aftercare.

What we do not do

We are not a government scheme, energy supplier or solar installer. We do not present every solar sale as a claim. We do not guarantee compensation, cancellation, refund or a particular result.

Our role is to help the homeowner understand the facts, organise the evidence and identify the route that appears most relevant.

Review steps

you explain who sold or installed the system

we check what was promised about savings, grants, output and installation quality

we look at what was promised about savings, grants, payback or performance

we consider installation faults, roof damage, inverter issues or aftercare failure

we identify the documents that would strengthen the next step

Why evidence matters

A complaint is much stronger when the paperwork and timeline are clear. Useful evidence includes the quote, contract, sales illustration, adverts, messages, photos, monitoring data, warranties and complaint replies.

FAQs

Are you anti-solar?

No. Many solar systems work well. The focus is on sales, installation or aftercare problems where the homeowner’s experience does not match what was promised.

Are you a government service?

No. Solar Panel Advice Centre is not a government scheme, regulator, energy supplier or installer.

Can you tell me if I definitely have a claim?

No one should promise that from a short description. A review can identify the likely route and the evidence needed.
